Tom Reynolds
President & Co-Founder

Tom brings 25 years of professional experience to the Export Solutions team. His career includes positions at GE and Disney, where he gained a variety of communication, training, marketing and project management skills. Tom has worked with numerous companies to help them improve their compliance to U.S. import/export regulations. In his current role, Tom manages the administrative, financial, marketing/sales and other responsibilities for the Export Solutions team.
A member of the Society for International Affairs (SIA), Tom lives in Orlando, Florida.
Karla Niemi
Sr. Consultant, Trade Compliance

Karla has over 27 years of import/export compliance management experience. Her background covers a wide range of regulatory knowledge and expertise. Karla is a subject matter expert on ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations, as well as other governmental agencies, including Department of Agriculture, Department of Energy, Department of the Treasury, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).
A licensed U.S. Customs Broker since 2000, Karla is adept at helping organizations navigate every aspect of their import/export business. This includes issues ranging from logistics and forwarder coordination to regulatory compliance, audits/assessments, licensing, U.S. Customs clearance, international procurement and transportation, export documentation and recordkeeping, and Incoterms.
Karla holds a Master of International Business and Bachelor of Business Administration Management degrees from New Mexico Highlands University. She lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Shawna Karajic
Sr. Consultant, Trade Compliance

Shawna brings more than 20 years of experience in international trade compliance. She has extensive knowledge of HTS and Schedule B classification, Free Trade agreements, and post-entry filings with US Customs. Shawna has experience with Denied Party Screening and ECCN classification. She has been a Licensed Customs Broker since 2012.
Shawna worked for over 16 years with DHL Express in various roles. While at DHL, Shawna created training material on Free Trade Agreements, which was incorporated in training provided across all locations in the U.S. She has also fulfilled the role of Import Manager at DB Schenker providing guidance to staff, clearing shipments with US Customs and conducting monthly and yearly audits for all imports. Her recent roles were with GE Global Operations. There, she provided classifications for all GE Aviation businesses in the US, as well as provided the import classifications for other countries. She also served as the North American Post Entry Strategy Leader, communicating frequently with Customs and providing post-entry expertise in filing CF19s and responding to CF28 and 29 notices.
Shawna graduated from the University of Cincinnati with an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She lives in Williamsburg, Ohio.
Kristine Kelleher
Trade Compliance Consultant

Kristine has more than 20 years of international trade compliance experience with comprehensive expertise in export regulations, licensing/authorizations, self-assessments, risk monitoring, sanctions compliance, and developing training programs. She has worked in-house for defense and life science companies, navigating through regulatory changes, export and re-export challenges, as well as global mergers and acquisitions to ensure compliance with global export regulations. She has vast experience with creating Corporate Procedures and flowing them down to both domestic and international sites to create user-friendly compliance programs through processes and work instructions that are tailored to their day-to-day operations.
Kristine graduated from Marist College in New York with a double major in both Criminal Justice and Russian Area Studies. She lives in the Atlanta metro area with her family.
Elizabeth Ewald
Trade Compliance Consultant

Elizabeth began her career as a receptionist and file clerk at a cedar mill, eventually taking on accounts payable duties. She later worked in accounts receivable at a bottling company and transitioned into collections at a phone company, becoming a team lead. Elizabeth then joined NASA as a procurement specialist, advancing to contract administrator II, where she handled fuel procurements, MIPRs, and trained new hires.
After taking time off to raise her two sons, Elizabeth reentered the workforce in a part-time role at a nonprofit, eventually helping an Australian defense company establish U.S. operations. She was promoted to export-control manager, earned ECoP® certifications, and became an Empowered Official. She later returned to NASA’s Export Control Office at Marshall Space Flight Center, supporting export compliance, foreign national visits, training, and asset approvals for international travel.
Elizabeth earned a BS in Business Administration from Colorado State University and is pursuing an MBA in Business Organization from Eastern University in Pennsylvania. She lives in Alabama.
Mike Sullivan
Trade Compliance Consultant

Mike has more than 30 years of trade compliance management experience. He is a subject matter expert in International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) with specific experience of regulatory knowledge relating to regulations associated with Aerospace, Defense, and Oil & Gas.
Mike has worked for multiple NASA contractors, including Boeing, in a variety of international support areas, including development of export processes, license development and management, product classification, export documentation, and recordkeeping. He has conducted export compliance training to as many as 300 people and is well-versed on everything export.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Business Administration-Management degree from the University of Houston. He lives with his family in College Station, Texas.
Clint Shewchuk
Trade Compliance Specialist - Canada

Clint brings over 30 years of experience working in the telecommunications, defense, and IT industries. He has held a variety of compliance roles during his career, including serving as the Controlled Technology Director and Permit Lead at Nortel Networks’ Global Trade and Compliance (GTC) department. Clint’s expertise centers on export compliance relating to the transfers of technology, product, and compliance processes. He is a subject matter expert on the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT) regulations. During his career, Clint has focused on improving existing policy and procedures for R&D companies, while supporting IT architectures and security models that minimize compliance risks in global environments.
With an educational background from the Algonquin College, University of Ottawa and Carleton University, Clint is a certified Life Cycle Materiel Manager (LCMM) for the Canadian Department of National Defense (DND). He is also a member of the Canadian Association of Importers and Exporters. He lives outside of Ottawa in Almonte, Ontario, Canada.
Kali Kaufman
Classification Specialist

Kali has half a decade of experience in Customs and Trade Compliance, working both for an importer and Customs Broker. In her previous role as a Trade Compliance Specialist for an importer of consumer goods, she was responsible for the clearance and audits of all US imports, as well as filing post summary corrections and protests, and responding to CF28 and 29 notices. She worked to revamp their product testing and record-keeping systems to ensure compliance with CBP and CPSC requirements. She worked directly with the company’s ERP development, product development, and purchasing teams to modify the ERP and reporting systems to ensure manufacturers were notified of any missing test results. She held sole responsibility for the classification of a catalog of over 20,000 different products.
She has passed the Customs Brokers License Exam and is in the process of becoming a Licensed Customs Broker. Kali is a graduate of University of North Florida and lives in Jacksonville, FL.
Gail Seago
Human Resources Manager

Gail brings 25 years of human resources and team management expertise to the Export Solutions team. She has extensive knowledge and experience in assisting companies with recruiting, training, employee relations, labor law compliance, compensation and benefits administration, as well as policy development. Gail has worked closely with a variety of corporate executives, advising them on the various aspects of human resources management.
As Human Resources Manager, Gail provides management support to Export Solutions’ senior leadership, ensuring legal compliance and championing the strategic vision of the organization. She also works closely with all members of the Export Solutions team to enhance awareness of company initiatives and increase employee engagement.
A graduate of Mountain State University, Gail holds a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Organizational Leadership. She is also a professional member of the Society for Human Resource Management. Prior to joining Export Solutions, Gail was a Regional Human Resources Director with Mercantile Bank, a division of TD Bank, N.A. She lives in Apopka, Florida.
Betsy Myers
Executive Administrator

Betsy began her career teaching in both private and public schools while also working at a real estate law firm where she handled accounting tasks and legal document processing. After returning to school for a second degree in Sign Language Interpreting and certification in C-Print Captioning, she worked as a freelance interpreter and live transcriptionist across industries such as education, healthcare, and corporate. Her skills led to a role as a personal interpreter for a GE employee in the Digital Technology Leadership Program.
Betsy’s strength in organization and numbers opened the door to administrative positions in interpreting and transcription agencies, overseeing payroll, scheduling, billing, and client services. In 2020, she became the Financial Secretary for Bethlehem Living Water, where she improved donor communication and implemented financial tracking systems. Betsy’s broad professional background, operational insight, and relational approach make her a valuable problem-solver across teams.
A graduate of Miami University, Betsy holds a Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in mathematics. She lives in Springboro, Ohio.
