Effective October 14, 2016, BIS has amended the Export Administration Regulations to allow for electronic submission of reporting requests U.S. persons receive to take action in furtherance or in support of an unsanctioned foreign boycott. Prior to this, reports were only permitted to be submitted by mail using BIS 621-P or BIS 6051-P. These can now be submitted online through the OAC Webpage.

Reports must still be submitted by the last day of the month following the calendar quarter in which the request was received. Other than adding an additional method of submission, the reporting requirements remain the same. These amendments are being made by BIS to modernize regulatory requirements and promote efficiency. This amendment will make sending reports of requests for restrictive trade practices or boycotts less burdensome by adding a faster, more efficient method of submission for U.S companies.
